Core responsibilities
Operations
- Transportation planning & routing strategy — vehicle counts, routing logic, travel days, and turnaround timing built to protect call times, crew health, and show readiness.
- Travel coordination & booking execution — alignment and execution of flights, hotels, ground transportation, and airport transfers when delegated, ensuring travel plans remain synchronized with routing, schedules, and show requirements.
- Vendor coordination & driver management — alignment across bus, Sprinter, and trucking providers with clear standards, communication loops, and accountable follow-through.
- Schedule integrity & contingency planning — buffer modeling and response plans for weather, mechanical issues, access constraints, and routing changes that threaten execution.
- On-tour transportation oversight — real-time monitoring and coordination on travel and show days to prevent cascading delays across departments.
Positioning & boundaries
- Operational leadership — transportation and logistics are managed as system-level disciplines.
- Not asset ownership — APEX does not sell or operate transportation assets.
- Not standalone booking services — booking execution operates inside this scope, not outside it.
Engagement criteria
- Multiple vehicles or modes — complexity requiring centralized coordination.
- Tight or high-risk turnarounds — where buffers and sequencing matter.
- Weather or access constraints — elevated disruption risk.
- Transportation issues could impact show execution — production timing protection.
